‘Tis the season for family, friends, sharing and counting our blessings. Everyday, you hear on the news, read in the papers, and watch on the computer – about random acts of kindness. Not just celebrities and mega-companies looking for publicity, but real people like you and me – doing things for others…… the pay it forward thing….. the unexpected thing.
While I am not advocating digging into the coffers of the hotel and handing out hotel rooms or $100 bills, I am suggesting that we all remind ourselves why we do what we do…. why we work so hard to make people feel welcomed and valued – and, turn it up a notch.
Hospitality is (by definition), everyday random acts of kindness…. making your guests feel special. Let’s re-energize ourselves and our staffs, throw out the welcome mat to make our guests feel extra warm and welcomed this holiday season – and, if you have the opportunity – maybe you too will make a Christmas miracle happen for someone.
